Welcome to Trenchmore Farm
We farm for flavour. Our Sussex x Wagyu cattle are mostly grass fed, also enjoying a few, protein rich, brewer's grains from our local breweries and a treat of apple pomace from our cider pressing. We're using traditional and latest research to produce consistent, marbled, succulent, slow grown, 28 day dry aged beef. In the orchard we have about 1600 traditional cider apple trees from which we make Silly Moo Sussex Cider, although we occasionally have some competition for the apples!
This year we're experimenting with heritage wheat and looking for bakers who'd like to try some local, interesting flours. Delighted to have been a finalist for the Sustainable Food Made Good Supplier of the Year Award 2016 and Sussex Food and Drink Awards Farmer of the Year 2017.
Silly Moo 2017 is bottled and heading out now to bars and shops across Sussex. We're delighted with the feedback so far - 'refreshing', 'well balanced' and 'nicely appley'. Many thanks to everyone who took part in our apple swap and we look forward to seeing you to collect your bottles.
